Rava puttu - Semolina puttu - Semolina steam cake

Rava puttu can be made easily with this recipe..Made this yesterday...Can be had with sugar and banana..Tastes great...

Ingredients

Semolina:2 cups,roasted
Salt  to taste

Grated coconut:3 tbsp

Water for mixing

Preparation:

In a non-stick pan roast the semolina or rava for a few minutes...

Let this cool...

Mix the roasted semolina or rava with salt and water in to a proper consistency such that all the semolina particles are coated with water...

But make sure it is not completely wet..

It shouldnot be sticky...

Now pour water in to the puttu kudam/base and keep it on low flame..

Then add the stopper at the bottom...

Add some grated coconut...

Now load the puttu maker/kulal with the prepared rice flour...

Alternatively add the rice flour and grated coconut...

Now place this on the puttu kudam/base and cook till steam comes out from the top!!!

Once puttu is cooked you can smeel the delicious fragrance of the puttu!!

Serve with bananas, sugar or even jaggary!!!

Enjoy cooking!!!
